The Challenge EMT Refresher Program offers an accelerated pathway for currently certified or expired New York State EMTs seeking recertification. Participants begin by completing a comprehensive written and psychomotor assessment to identify strengths and areas requiring additional review.
Based on the results of the assessment, students attend targeted refresher sessions either virtually or in person, focusing only on the topics that require remediation. This individualized approach allows experienced providers to concentrate their efforts where they are needed most while minimizing unnecessary classroom time.

Upon successful completion of the program, participants are eligible to sit for the New York State EMT Certification Examination.
The process from initial assessment to state examination generally takes two to three months, depending on class size and state testing schedules.
*EMS Agency Affiliation Disclaimer

There is no tuition cost for students who are affiliated with a New York State EMS agency and are eligible for reimbursement through NYS DOH Form DOH-3312.
