Member Spotlight - April Member of the Month - Ryan S.

Congratulations to Ryan S. for achieving member of the month for the month of April!

Ryan joined Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps in 2012. During his tenure at CVAC, Ryan has grown significantly as a medical professional. He first obtained his EMT-B certification, and then went on to become a paramedic. Ryan is continuing his path in medicine, and is currently enrolled in medical school. In Ryan's own words he "loves how CVAC has given him the privilege of participating in some of the most intimate and life-changing moments in the lives of the members of his community, as well as the skills and ability to make a concrete impact on the outcomes of those situations." When asked how CVAC has helped his personal and professional life, Ryan had this to say, "CVAC has played an enormous role in my journey to become a physician. The exposure to patient care that I was afforded at CVAC was instrumental in my sustained interest in a career in medicine and I credit a large portion of my success in school thus far to the skills I developed here. My choice to pursue a residency in Emergency Medicine with a focus on pre-hospital care is directly attributable to my experiences as a member of CVAC." Ryan has completed a record-shattering 260 hours for the month of April!

Congratulations to Ryan for earning the honor of being our fourth member of the month, and our fourth in our series of member spotlights!

Ryan, thank you for your selfless dedication to the corps, and we are extremely proud of your progress so far. We know that you become an amazing physician one day, and we are proud that you attribute some of your success in medicine to Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps. - 33
