Member Spotlight - March Member of the Month - Luke D.

Congratulations to Luke D. for achieving member of the month for the month of March!

Luke joined Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps in November of 2018. He was accepted into our knowledge intensive Youth Squad. Youth Squad members in CVAC ride the ambulance, and provide life-saving medical care as our senior members do. Luke was immediately drawn to the fast-paced requirements that the Youth Squad entails. Luke was drawn to CVAC because of what it could offer him. He cites his reason for joining as a place to become exposed to emergency medicine, something he wishes for in his future professional life. He loves being able to be there for people in their time of need, and loves the relationships he's built over the years with his crews and colleagues. Luke is also currently enrolled in an EMT class, and is slated to become CVAC's third 17 year old EMT! We thank Luke for his engagement, and energy that he brings to the corps. He can often be found signing up for extra shifts, helping the Quartermaster committee with events, and was instrumental in the success of CVAC's PPE fundraiser!

Congratulations to Luke for earning the honor of being our third member of the month, and our third in our series of member spotlights!

Luke, I have high hopes for you not only in CVAC, but in your future career aspirations as well. You are an asset to our department, and exceed the vision of model Youth Squad member. Thank you for everything you do! - 33
