Multi-Car MVA Sends One to Hospital

On Thursday, January 2nd at 4:20PM, Commack Ambulance was activated for a motor vehicle collision with entrapment at the intersection of Jericho Turnpike and Daly Road. Upon arrival, it was discovered to be a multi-car motor vehicle collision with one vehicle wedged between a utility pole and support tie. Commack Fire Department and Dix Hills Fire Department began the extrication process for the single occupant. Under the command of Chief of Department Mike Hoddinott, Ambulance 15, Ambulance 20, Ambulance 21, Responder 80 and Responder Medic began the evaluation of multiple patients. One patient was transported to Southside Hospital by Ambulance 15. All units were back in service in about 20 minutes, with Ambulance 15 being in service in just over one hour.
