CVAC Stands By for House Fire

On Friday November 29th at 2:02PM, Commack Ambulance was dispatched to provide a medical standby at the scene of a working structure fire on Rensselaer Drive. CVAC units 2-16-17, 2-16-80 and 2-16-Medic were on scene in 4 minutes and were assisted by 2-16-15, 2-16-32 and Central Islip-Hauppauge Ambulance. The Cyanide Response Team was also activated, bringing paramedics from the Dix Hills Fire Department, East Northport Fire Department and Greenlawn Fire Department to the scene. Commack Fire Department also requested the Dix Hills Fire Department to the scene and the Kings Park Fire Department to standby at their quarters. All units were back in service after an hour and a half.
