Chocolate Factory Mishap

On Tuesday July 9th, the Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps, along with Commack Fire Department and the Suffolk County Police Department was requested to respond to 74 Mall Drive for a report of a male that was trapped in a 20,000 gallon mixing tank. Upon arrival ,the units found one male patient had fell into a mixing tank of chocolate. The patient was no longer in the mixing tank with non life threatening injuries. Commack Ambulance responded with 2 ambulances (2-16-21, 2-16-15) a paramedic responder (2-16-medic) as well as Captain Lowenberg (2-16-52). All units were under the command of First Assistant Chief Mike Hoddinott (2-16-31). The patient was transported to Southside hospital for further evaluation.
