Established in 1966, the Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps is a vital part of our community. Your support helps Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps maintain the resources necessary to provide you with the highest quality of pre-hospital care possible. Our 24-7 in-house crews provide superior response time to ambulance calls with highly trained and motivated emergency personal, as well as being the only emergency ambulance service for Commack. We work hard to maintain the highest training levels, equpiment and reliable vehicles able to serve Commack and parts or Smithtown, East Northport, Elwood and Hauppauge.

MVA

Monday, April 18, 2011 11:35 CVAC was activated for a MVA at the intersection of Larkfield Road and Burr Rd.  Upon arrival both vehicles were found on the service road with significant damage.  All occupants were out of the vehicles.

Under the command of Asst. Chief Schwalbe, 2-16-17, 2-16-89, and 2-16-34 treated the occupants of the vehicles.  One patient was transported with minor injuries to the hospital.

     



 

MVA with Entrapment

Tuesday, April 5, 2011 06:53 At 0653hrs CVAC was activated for a MVA with a reported entrapment at the intersection of Indian Head Road and Somers Lane.  Units 2-16-18, 2-16-19, 2-16-89, 2-16-33, and Ex-Chief Cavalieri responded.  2-16-89 arrived on scene and confirmed a 2 car MVA with one patient trapped.  CFD was on scene and quickly extricated the patient.

Under the command of Ex-Chief Cavalieri, all patients were treated and transported to local hospitals.

     



 

Overturn MVA

Saturday, March 12, 2011 17:41 At 1741hrs on Saturday March 12, 2011 CVAC was activated for a reported MVA with overturn on the WB Northern State Pkwy / East of the Sunken Meadow Pkwy.

Upon arrival, the crew was faced with a confirmed overturn into the woods.  Under the command of Asst. Chief Schwalbe; 2-16-32, 2-16-34, 2-16-20, 2-16-89 quickly extricated and treated the patient.  The patient was transported by 2-16-20 to the local hospital.

     



 

MVA with Overturn

Wednesday, February 23, 2011 13:44 MVA with Overturn

CVAC was activated for a MVA with reported overturn on the East Bound Northern State Parkway East of the Sunken Meadow Pkwy.  Upon arrival crews were faced with one car into the woods and a second care overturned into the woods on the opposite side of the road.  Under the command of Asst. Chief Schwalbe, 2-16-19 treated and transported three patients with minor injuries to the hospital.

     



 

Signal 9 / 13/ 35

Sunday, February 6, 2011 02:37 On 2/6/11 @ 0237hrs the Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps was activated for a stand-by at a working structure fire.  Units 2-16-17, 2-16-18, 2-16-20, 2-16-31, and 2-16-89 operated on scene under the command of 2nd Asst. Chief Hoddinott.  There were no injuries to report and all units were released at 03:50hrs.
